Community Speed Watch Training

This is a partnership between the local community, local authority and Essex Police. Volunteers are trained to use speed detection devices for the purposes of gathering data on motorists who are speeding. The objectives of the scheme are not to catch people speeding but to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and anti social behaviour on the roads. Where appropriate the driver or registered keeper of offending vehicles will be sent a letter advising them of the dangers of speeding.

If you are interested in being a volunteer please contact the Town Clerk. Sessions have been held recently and the results are as follows:

  • 13.06.2018 - London Road, 19 vehicles
  • 17.07.2018 - Rawreth Lane, 5 vehicles
  • 24.07.2018 - Rawreth Lane, 7 vehicles
  • 19.09.2018 - Rawreth Lane, 15 vehicles
