2024

The Trinity Fair took place on Sunday 9th June 2024.  Once again it was a huge success and attended by many residents and visitors.  

Cllr Marianne Vernon, Chairman of Rayleigh Town Council unveiled the latest heritage plaque at Rayleigh Primary School this morning The Town Council worked in co-operation with Rayleigh Town Museum on this location. The Chairman of Rochford District Council, Cllr Sarah Jane Page was also in attendance.

 

Cllr Marianne Vernon, Chairman, Rayleigh Town Council attended the Global Village event in King George V Playing Field on Saturday 27th July. Cllr Sarah Jane Page, Chairman of Rochford District Council was in attendance as both councils have supported this event.
This was a fantastic free event, inclusive for the whole community which included singing and dancing.

Annual Town Awards 2024


 

 

 

 

 

  

 

Rayleigh Town Council last night held their Annual Town Meeting and Awards at the Sweyne Park School.  Chairman Cllr Danielle Belton led the meeting assisted by Cllr Cheryl Roe, Communities Chairman.   The evening was attended by approximately 120 people

 

A total of 12 awards were presented in a variety of categories.  Cllr Danielle Belton presented the  Chairman’s Award to Brian Mitchell, MBE for his dedication to Rayleigh Football Club.

Cllr Danielle Belton said “ It was an amazing evening, celebrating the towns success and more importantly so many of our incredible people

Thank you to everyone of you, for all of your efforts this year to make Rayleigh a better place, from the volunteers to the high achievers you are all assets and I'm proud to have you as my neighbours”

2023

Rayleigh Town Council have installed a defibrillator and bleed control kit in the King George V Playing Field, Rayleigh. These cabinets are located on the pavilion wall and can be accessed 24 hours a day, Community Heartbeat Charity

 

Cllr Deborah Mercer's last duty as Rayleigh Town Council Chairman was to hand over a cheque to her charity of the year, BASIS for £3,000. Cllr Mercer raised this sum of money by holding a number of events throughout the year.

 


Plans are underway for the new inclusive play equipment in the King George V Playing Field which the KGV Trust are very grateful to be part funded by the National Lottery.
